A new bill for online poker in California

31 Jan All, Online Poker | Comments Off

The American Association of poker players will introduce a new bill in California to allow online poker. Given the deficit of the State of California, this bill would help California to regain control. The association lobbyists poker players PVA (Poker Voters of America) and will give California lawmakers a choice of 3 bills.

President of the Association Poker Voters of America, Melanie Brenner said the bill got the support of Gerry Hill politician of the California Assembly. It will be a bill to allow only the online poker, A limited version of the bill introduced last year by Sen. Rod Wright.

The other difference with the bill of Senator Rod Wright is that he has removed the limits on the number of hubs, allows most important sources of income, allowing a greater number of operators such as First Nations communities nations.

Last month two other bills were presented, one for First Nations Morongo, led by the California Online Poker Association (COPA) and California Sen. Louis Correa. Then came the presentation of the bill for Rod Wright who took a surprise for all lobbyists.

Indeed Melanie Brenner said they had an agreement with the Morongo, that they planned to do additional steps to alert the PVA Association of Poker Voters of America.

The association of Poker Voters of America said they have appointed as executive director Patrick Dorinson former spokesman for Morongo.

A bill that would provide grant to the California Association Online Poker Association (COPA) the monopoly of online poker in California, would exclude many First Nations communities and at least one hundred clubs maps already dismissed.

This is certainly the reason why Rod Wright reoffered his bill to make it clear to Correa and his association COPA can not have a monopoly and they want to dominate California.

When Rod Wright introduced his bill last year in June, there was much opposition from the Morongo and card clubs, and casino industry, because it would have enabled websites Foreign poker and casinos in Las Vegas to dominate online gambling in California.

More California facing a deficit of 25 billion dollars by the end of the fiscal year in April, will provide a rationale for urgent Morongo and the association COPA to impose their bill.

Other tribes of First Nations have joined the debate on this bill, like Pechenga and Caliente, so that they also have a solution for online poker.

The association of Poker Voters of America will find another sponsor who could support more strongly the bill, if possible some of the Senate.
